The Salvation Army charity shop in Thirsk is celebrating the Tour de Yorkshire with a special window display in preparation for when the famous international cycle race passes through the small North Yorkshire market town on Sunday. Shop team member, Kirsty Grimston, transformed the shop’s window, displaying clothes and accessories using a theme of blue and yellow, and of course, installing a bicycle right in the centre.
Kirsty said: “I love getting creative with our window displays and couldn’t wait to do one to celebrate the Tour de Yorkshire. It has become such an iconic event here in North Yorkshire and everyone gets so excited. It creates a wonderful community spirit. My thanks goes out to our local car garage who spray painted the bicycle for us – it looks fantastic!”
The Salvation Army charity shop is located at 45 Market Place, Thirsk, YO7 1HA. The Tour de Yorkshire passes through Thirsk on Sunday 1 May.
