Representatives of SATCoL,

The Salvation Army has achieved one of the sector’s top accolades, winning the Charity Retail Association’s Outstanding Charity Retailer of the Year 2026 Award.

The award was presented to the trading arm of The Salvation Army, which operates over 250 high street shops and donation centre stores on behalf of its parent church and charity, at the CRA’s Annual Conference and Awards  held at the ICC Wales on 23 June. This is the third time Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd (SATCoL) has won the award, having previously won it in 2022 and 2024

The Outstanding Charity Retailer of the Year award recognises performance, growth, innovation and social impact. Key highlights from SATCoL’s year includes increased year-on-year sales, an additional 900,000 customer transactions, the opening of 8 new large donation centre stores, while shops and donation centres actively engaged in community giving to address local and urgent needs.

Trevor Caffull, SATCoL’s Managing Director, said:

“Our achievements go far beyond sales and we are honoured to receive this award. Our charity shops and donation centres play a vital role in supporting their local communities in different ways. In the past year we provided over 5,000 free clothing vouchers to address clothing poverty. At the same time, charity retail continues to act as a proven route into employment with 268 volunteers moving into paid roles over the year.”

By the end of March 2026, SATCoL had 7,137 volunteers, supported by an inclusive, values‑led culture. This was recognised nationally when SATCoL was ranked 21st Best Large Company to Work For (UK), by Best Companies Ltd in September 2025, and 5th Best Company in the Charity Sector (UK).
