Donate your unwanted items.
Where to donateYour donations and the profits we make goes to The Salvation Army and the work they do supporting vulnerable people. Our charity helps those experiencing homelessness, and potential victims of human trafficking, as well as support for the emergency services at times of crisis and more.
We could not do what we do, and raise the millions of pounds each year to help those in need, without the help of our donors, customers and volunteers. With your help, we also collect, reuse and repurpose millions of items each year to good uses – thus extending the life of products and diverting them away from landfill and disposal.
Each year we distribute tens of thousands of donated goods, at no cost, directly to people through our shops, via our parent charity or other charities and community groups that come to us for help. We also raise funds for our parent charity (in the past ten years alone we have raised over £80m for The Salvation Army).
Gift Aid works because your charitable donations aren’t taxable. Put simply, if you’re a UK taxpayer, a charity can claim an extra 25% from the value of your donation, at no extra cost to you. For example, if you donate £10 to The Salvation Army and you say yes to Gift Aid, they will get £12.50.
The great thing about Gift Aid is that it can be claimed on clothing donations too. You can sign up today online and you will receive a ‘thank you’ email with your dedicated Gift Aid barcode. If you go along to one of our charity shops with your unwanted items, make sure you show your barcode to one of our retail colleagues. We can claim an extra 25% on the value of your donations for The Salvation Army.
