Hosted by Joanna Page, best known for her role in Gavin & Stacey, Shift the Thrift sees participants work alongside second hand shopping enthusiasts discovering charity shop treasures to upcycle using a set £100 budget in just one hour. The items they buy are then sent to be auctioned or sold online to raise money for their chosen charity. The second episode of this new afternoon series features mother and daughter duo Liz and Alice visit the Salvation Army charity shop in High Wycombe with experts Tom and Terry in a bid to find a second hand gem.

On being selected to take part, Regional Shop Manager Daniel Clark said: "I felt proud that the BBC chose our store. It was selected on the day of filming. The director approached me as I happened to be doing a store visit and asked if they could film in our store as they felt it was perfect for the show due to having a very Boutique feel and having lots of fantastic stock.

It was a great opportunity to highlight our business and showcase Robbie's (High Wycombe’s shop manager) beautiful store.”

In this episode, the contestants purchased a Boden shift dress in electric blue for £6.50 and a 100% silk vintage suit jacket made by popular 80s brand Tie Rack for just £16 from the shop. How did they do in the auction room? You can find out by watching the full episode here.

The High Wycombe is open Monday to Saturday 9am – 5pm (9:30am – 5pm on Tuesdays). Have a look at their Facebook page here.
