Outstanding Charity Retailer!

SATCoL shortlisted for 3rd year in a row

We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Charity Retail Association’s Outstanding Charity Retail of the Year award category 2023. This is the third year in a row that Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd (SATCoL) has been shortlisted for the award, having been shortlisted in 2021, 2022 and 2023. We won the award outright in 2022.

Sales and profit performance is a key indicator for businesses and is often a criteria for award nominations. Positive social and environmental impact and colleagues’ wellbeing and development remain the centre of our focus and were core parts of our nominations.

For the 2023 nomination, we shared more about the work with The Salvation Army’s front line services and community projects. Forty-four of our stores, for example, offer free provisions for service users from the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit. Many high street shops have food bank collections and many of our donation centres have community fridges. Other community projects we highlighted include a collaboration with HMP Five Wells.
