Salvation Army Clydebank store helps families with free school uniform giveaway

The Salvation Army Clydebank donation centre launched a free school uniform giveaway on Saturday 9th August. The store had been gifted hundreds of school uniform items, including tops, jumpers, skirts and trousers. The stock was made up of good quality second-hand items donated by members of the local community, as well as hundreds of new items donated by a corporate donor.
Billie-Jo Conolly, manager at the donation centre said: "It's really important that we support families and help lower the cost for those that feel the pressure of having to buy a large number of school uniform items. We are in a fortunate position that we receive lots of generous donations and we have a lovely store, so we can create a great shopping experience for families and guardians, and their children."
One set of standard uniform items (top, bottoms, jumper and/or cardigan) was available to each child in a family, for free, subject to availability. The free items did not include shoes or coats, but the store offered these at a low price, to keep the items affordable.
Billie-Jo continued: "We want to help as many families as possible, so please spread the word and pop to our store with your child or children, so they can pick items. If we have stock still left, we will lift the restrictions and make a second set of uniform items available for families, so please keep an eye out on our social media."
