Diversity and Inclusion
Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd (SATCoL) is the trading arm of The Salvation Army. Through our various reuse and recycling initiatives, and with the support of the British public, SATCoL has donated millions of pounds to The Salvation Army to help its work with vulnerable people in the UK (over £100 million has been donated in the last ten years).
As a subsidiary of our parent church and charity, we wholeheartedly embrace our part in the life and mission of The Salvation Army. SATCoL’s values align to those of The Salvation Army, and are also unique and meaningful to us. Our values have been developed with colleagues, they guide us in our individual work and they influence decisions the company takes.
SATCoL’s values are summarised by CARE:
Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Equality
Our values reflects the ‘care’ we take our role in helping the most vulnerable people in our society, leading positive change to help protect our planet, and also care for our colleagues’, customers’ and corporate partners’ needs.
Through our network of over 250 shops and our links with partners, we sit at the heart of communities across the UK. The Salvation Army and SATCoL are made up of thousands of people who work, volunteer, donate and serve together every week. We welcome, work with and serve people regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, race, religion and ethnicity. Our employment practices are non-discriminatory and we seek to create welcoming, nurturing work environments.
The Salvation Army rejects racism and sexism and stands against homophobia and transphobia, which victimises people and can reinforce feelings of alienation, loneliness and despair.
