We support the growth, wellbeing, and capability of all our colleagues. All opportunities are designed to help give colleagues the skills and knowledge needed to reach their fullest potential.
With SATCoL’s values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Equality, we strive to empower with learning, individuals and their teams, enabling everyone to be the best version of themselves.
All colleagues will complete a minimum 12-week comprehensive induction, allowing them to integrate into their new role and working environment.
During this time, they will start to access our award-winning e-learning platform, The Learning Booth, to complete online courses aimed at equipping them to perform their duties safely and effectively, and to expand their current knowledge base. This platform is available to all colleagues throughout their employment to learn additional skills and gain further understanding through a library of over 120 modules.
On-the-job training and coaching are delivered by our experienced line managers and locally through meetings, regional and area events, and through online sessions where colleagues can share their knowledge and grow together.
We recognise that our colleagues will want to grow and develop in different ways.
Regular 1-to-1 performance discussions help us identify further opportunities to support growth, whether that be through apprenticeship or leadership training courses, supporting colleagues to obtain external professional qualifications, or continuous development opportunities.
SATCoL is commitment to our colleagues’ development. Thus, the Training Tuesday/ChooseDay initiative was introduced to give all colleagues access to 45 minutes of protected time every week for professional development.
In retail, stores will close to support this, and in other areas of the business, protected time is scheduled to support the colleagues’ needs.
