Learn about us

We are the trading arm of The Salvation Army, also known as SATCoL.

Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd (SATCoL) is the trading arm of The Salvation Army in the UK and Republic of Ireland. Established in 1991, SATCoL actively encourages the reuse and recycling of donated clothing and other household items through its 240 charity shops and donation centres, and a nationwide network of clothing banks.

With the support of the British public, SATCoL has donated millions of pounds to The Salvation Army to help its work with vulnerable people in the UK (over £80 million has been donated in the last ten years alone).

The profits raised from donations go to The Salvation Army to support the important work they do in communities across the UK. The Salvation Army helps those experiencing homelessness and potential victims of human trafficking, we well as support for the emergency services at times of crisis and more.

As a subsidiary of our parent church and charity, we wholeheartedly embrace our part in the life and mission of The Salvation Army. SATCoL’s values align to those of The Salvation Army, and are also unique and meaningful to us.

Our core purpose is ‘enabling mission and providing resources to help the work of The Salvation Army’.

Our values have been developed with colleagues, they guide us in our individual work and they influence decisions the company takes.

SATCoL’s values are summarised by CARE:

Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Equality

Our values reflects the ‘care’ we take our role in helping the most vulnerable people in our society, leading positive change to help protect our planet, and also care for our colleagues’, customers’ and corporate partners’ needs.
