The Salvation Army’s ‘The Great Big Charity Superstore’ will be the largest charity shop in the UK, with furniture and clothing departments, a cafe and a Salvation Army meeting place. Opening in the summer of 2017 we are looking for full and part time staff to deliver fantastic customer service
Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd (SATCoL) was formed in 1991 and its primary aim is to provide The Salvation Army with funds to support its valuable work throughout the UK and Ireland, which includes homelessness and addiction services, care for older people, help at emergency incidents, support for adult victims of human trafficking in England and Wales and a Family Tracing Service.

To be responsible for sorting and preparing stock in the preparation area, ensuring that there is a ready supply of clothing to replenish the sales floor. Completing all the daily administration you will ensure that the stock is kept secure at all times.
To sort and prepare stock within the processing area to maximise sales
To complete all administrative tasks associated with stock preparation
To provide assistance to the floor manager
Maximise value of donated stock by grading in accordance with established practices
To have a plentiful supply of good quality stock ready at all times
To ensure that a high standard of customer service, as expected by the company, is maintained at all times
To keep the stock preparation area clean and tidy at all times, in accordance with the Health & Safety regulations
To fulfil whatever mutually agreed additional duties are deemed necessary
Continually ensure that personal behaviour reflects the vision and values of the company
Assist on the sales floor if needed
Manual handing and movement of large amounts of stock
Essential Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of retro and designer label’s
Ability to work under own initiative at a pace which meets the needs of the shop
Good communication skills to effectively build and maintain relationships with colleagues, and customers.
Good organisational skills
Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively with others
Preferable Knowledge and Skills
Previous sorting experience
A good understanding of health and safety within the workplace
