Kettering Salvation Army charity shop launches bridal collection
- Launch party Saturday 9 July, 11am to 1pm, 40 Gold Street -
Kettering’s Salvation Army is set to launch a brand new bridal wear collection on Saturday 9 July. The charity shop has a selection of over 80 brand new and preloved dresses as well as a large selection of accessories.
To celebrate the launch of the new collection, Gemma Brierley, manager of The Salvation Army shop is inviting Northamptonshire’s residents to come along for cake and refreshments from 11am this Saturday.
Gemma said: “I am so excited to share this bridal wear collection with our customers. Some of the dresses that have been donated are brand new and every single one of them is unique and stunning. Plus we have got some very striking hats and fascinators.
“Anyone is welcome along to our launch party. We’ll be encouraging people to try on whatever dress they like – and of course, a wedding party isn’t complete without cake, so there will be plenty of that!”
The bridal wear items include wedding dresses priced from £30, bridesmaid dresses, shoes, hats and accessories. All sales will help the Kettering charity shop play its vital role in raising money for The Salvation Army, which supports vulnerable people in communities across the UK.
Gemma added: “Working in a charity shop has turned me into a big advocate for second-hand items. It’s a sustainable way to buy clothes, not to mention cost effective. Wedding dresses only get worn once so I love the fact that magazines and programmes like Say Yes to the Dress and Don’t Tell the Bride feature preloved wedding dresses – they prove brides don’t have to wear new to look fabulous.
“Maybe you’re on a budget or perhaps you want to get creative by taking a second-hand dress and making it your own – either way, hopefully we will have the dress you’re looking for!”
